The First Additions
It is generally agreed that Henry Hooper brought a second two room house to the site and attached it to the house. It is not known which side is the older. In the East Parlor, you can see the large fireplace for cooking behind the Georgian era fireplace. Cornelius Waldo is thought to have raised the roof over the front two rooms and expanded the house to three floors. This would have made the house an impressive structure in Cambridge at the time and would fit his advertising it as a country seat for a gentleman.
