Beginning in 2009, the Cambridge Historical Society has partnered with Toscanini’s Ice Cream to host photo scanning days in August. We open our doors and invite the public to bring in photos for us to scan, and give them a free ice cream for their time. The photos can be of just about anything: birthday parties, parades, snow storms, houses, businesses, new cars, old friends, etc. as long as it is identified and taken in Cambridge we’re interested in copying it. For the Society this project adds to our collection of everyday life in Cambridge, for the residents who bring in their photos, this allows their memories to be a part of our community’s history and they get a free ice cream.
