Become a Member

Membership dues support the Cambridge Historical Society's educational programs, collection maintenance and preservation, and interpretation projects at the Hooper-Lee-Nichols House. The Historical Society welcomes new members any time of the year. Individual and corporate rates are available.

How to join

You can join or renew your CHS membership online and pay securely through Paypal (you will be re-directed to the secure Paypal site but will receive a confirmation from CHS within a few days).

Membership Type

If you would prefer to send a check, you can print and complete the membership form and mail in with a check made payable to The Cambridge Historical Society.

General Membership Benefits

Free admission to the Hooper-Lee-Nichols House

Advance notice and invitations to the Society's programs; including lectures, walking tours, field trips and open houses.

Subscription to the Society's newsletter, The Cambridge Historian.

All memberships are valid for one year from the receipt of dues and are renewable annually. Contributions are tax deductible, excluding $5, which covers mailing expenses.

For people who are joining for the first time. Benefits listed above.

Richard Henry Dana Fellow - $100

In addition to general membership benefits, Richard Henry Dana Fellow members and their family are invited to special events each year, which often include visits to private sites of historical or architectural significance.

Charles W. Eliot II Fellow - $150

In addition to general membership benefits, Charles W. Eliot Fellow members and their family are invited to additional special events each year, which often include visits to private sites of historical or architectural significance.

Sponsor - $250
General membership benefits, invitations to Dana Fellows events, free admission for Sponsors and their family to CHS programs (this does not include our fundraising events), and a private guided tour of CHS facilities.

Patron - $500
General membership benefits, invitations to Dana Fellows events, free admission to CHS Patrons and their family to programs, one private guided tour of CHS facilities, and one free walking tour by CHS staff per year (This does not include our fundraising events The tour can be for up to 12 people, roughly an hour long, in an area agreed to by the CHS staff, and must be scheduled a month in advance.).

Benefactor - $1000
General membership benefits, invitations to Dana Fellows events, free admission to CHS programs, one private guided tour of CHS facilities, and either one free walking tour by CHS staff or one free rental of the Hooper-Lee-Nichols House per year (This does not include our fundraising events. The tour can be for up to 12 people, roughly an hour long, in an area agreed to by the CHS staff, and must be scheduled a month in advance. The rental can be for up to 4 hours, scheduled at the discretion of the CHS staff, and subject to the rental rules of CHS).
