Thank you to everyone who joined us at the Cambridge Historical Society on May 16! What a delight it was to listen to longtime Society and Council member Heli Meltsner as she spoke about her book The Arts and Crafts Houses of Massachusetts!

Heli exhibited several images of houses in the Boston-Cambridge area, describing key features of arts and crafts architecture across the state. She explained how New England both adopted and broke from English tradition, while she also emphasized just how difficult it is to describe this style!

The Arts and Crafts Houses of Massachusetts is the only illustrated field guide to this architectural style. If you were unable to make it to our event but want to learn more, Heli’s book is available through Bauhan Publishing.

Thank you, Heli, for your countless contributions to the Cambridge Historical Society, and for sharing with us your new book!
