Out of Blue Art Gallery

Out of the Blue Art Gallery was founded in the fall of 1996 by Tom Pipton, a carpenter, Sue Carlin, and other artists. Originally, their gallery events were held in lofts and their works were also hung at the Brookline Lunch. However, the founders soon realized that they needed a permanent space. Their first permanent space was located at 168 Brookline Avenue in a blue building. The gallery is currently located at 106 Prospect Street. Out of the Blue gallery houses both the traditional and non-traditional art of 40-50 artists. Their gallery provides a home for actors, storytellers, musicians, and poets, as well as traditional visual artists. Out of the Blue also outsources art to 7 Boston-area venues, including the Middle East.
