History

Opened by Charlie Lambrose and dubbed "The Double Cheeseburger King," Charlie's is a kind of relic. With its grungy vinyl booths, jukebox, and unchanged fifties-meets-seventies décor, it serves as a charmingly shabby, blue collar luncheon by day, noisy, hipster hangout with live bands by night. Its two levels offer a menu of burgers, "double lobster rolls", frappes and booze. A newly-added beer garden has been a unique draw for the area.
